Coming soon to the App Store

Know what's left before you spend.

Ldgr is a budgeting app you keep by hand. No bank logins, no imports — you enter every purchase yourself, so you stay present with your money instead of reviewing it later.

The idea

Most budgeting apps are built for the autopsy.

Connect your bank and every purchase lands in a feed you review later. That's great for figuring out where your money went — and useless in the moment that actually matters: right before you spend.

The usual way

Passive

Your accounts sync in the background. A notification tells you when you've hit a limit — after the money is already gone. You react to the past.

Ldgr

Present

You add each purchase by hand and watch the number drop. Every budget shows what's left before you spend it. You stay ahead of the money, not behind it.

What it's like

Simple by design, on purpose.

Hands-on by design

You add every purchase yourself — no bank logins, no automation. Staying close to your spending is the point.

Know what's left

Every budget shows what's left to spend at a glance and resets on the schedule you choose — daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

Share with anyone

Share a budget with one person or several through iCloud. Everyone stays accountable together, and each purchase is attributed to whoever made it.

How it works

Four small habits, and you're budgeting.

01

Make a budget for anything

Groceries, date nights, coffee, conferences — set a spending limit that resets daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

02

Add each purchase by hand

An amount, a date, a quick memo. It takes seconds, and it's the moment you stay honest with yourself.

03

Watch what's left

The big number on every screen is the one that matters. Progress bars shift from green to orange to red as you near a limit.

04

Look back when it resets

Each period starts fresh. Page back through past periods to see how you did and adjust for next time.

Why I built Ldgr

At work, we run budgets on Ramp — a separate virtual card for personal development, travel, conferences, each one. Every time I buy something I have to pick which card it comes from, and that small act keeps me constantly aware of exactly how much is left in each one.

I wanted that feeling at home, but privately. No bank I could find still offers per-budget virtual cards, and every budgeting app wants to connect to my accounts and do the thinking for me. That's the opposite of what makes the system work. So I built Ldgr: the same discipline, by hand, kept entirely in my own iCloud.
